              ATTENTION AviSys USERS!

I have prepared a moth database for use with AviSys birding
software. It is available here now!

This list roughly follows the sequence and names used by James
Adams on his site,
http://www.daltonstate.edu/galeps/ with changes
and additions I chose based on researching other websites.

There are currently (as of 8-6-10) 3602 species on the list. If you
downloaded this file before this date, you should redo it now as I have
added 100+ more common names I found by studying bugguide.net.
My next project is to make sure that every species on bugguide
appears in this AviSys database.

Many moths do not have common names. If you find a common name
for one on my list that only has a scientific name, please let me know
and I'll update it.
If you know that some family name is no longer accepted, or if some
species should be moved to different families, send me a note so I can
update that as well.

Here are the links for the list and instructions. I ask that, if you try
this, you send me an email to let me know that it either worked, or
that you had problems.
